Friday, December 1st 2023, the Master of Information Systems Study Program of Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University held a workshop with the theme “Cyber ​​Security Governance with ISO 27001”. This workshop was held offline in Building B, 6th Floor, Master of Information Systems Study Program with Dr. Oky Dwi Nurhayati, S.T., M.T. as the keynote speaker and moderated by Doni Wiryadinata, S.St.Pi. This activity was attended by active students and alumni of the Master of Information Systems Study Program.

ISO 27001 is an international standard for information security management systems or more commonly called Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). ISMS uses a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information, so that it remains secure. This includes people information, processes and systems and information technology by implementing risk management processes. This information security management system is important for organizations, companies, or agencies that have data in the form of important and confidential information so their security needs to be ensured.

In general, ISO 27001 has benefits such as: 1) Protecting all information held by employees and consumers or clients, whether digital, hardcopy or cloud; 2) Anticipate cyber attacks; 3) Manage information system security risks appropriately and effectively; and 4) Be aware of external threats.

This workshop activity ran smoothly and workshop participants also actively interacted with the keynote speaker. Because of the importance of material regarding Cyber ​​Security, the Master of Information Systems Study Program plans to open a new elective course, namely Cyber ​​Security Governance.
