In this activity, Prof. Dr. Goh Khang Wen, M.Sc., Ph.D. explains the great potential of future libraries in the Metaverse world. Metaverse itself is a combination of the real world and the digital world which produces a virtual space where users can interact and carry out daily activities like in the real world. Of course, this is an interesting topic to discuss and explore further.

According to Prof. Goh, the idea of a future library in the Metaverse world will make it easier for various users to be able to access quality reading without being limited by distance and time. This innovation will also attract more virtual library users and visitors because of its high accessibility with the support of interaction between humans and computers or what is called human-computer interaction hardware.

Beside that, the Metaverse library also has other advantages, including: 1) It has the potential to provide user-based services that provide 3D displays, virtual consultation services, and library guides; 2) Provides 3D literature search visualization; 3) Virtual consultation with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) in real-time; and 4) Providing needs and bridging various human-computer interactions, by combining touch, visual, sound and movement technology in an integrated manner to enable the exchange of multi-sensory information.
